On October 3, the Seven Oaks Doors & Hardware team took part in the Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Walk in downtown Albemarle. Our team completed the 5K in under an hour, making it a memorable day of teamwork, activity, and community connection.
Hosted by the Uwharrie Brewing Running Club, the event brought runners and walkers together at Uwharrie Brewing on North Third Street. Participants could choose the 5K or the one-mile walk, making it an event for a range of ages and activity levels.
A Community Event with a Meaningful Purpose
The Firehouse 5K celebrated the Albemarle Fire Department and Fire Prevention Week. Along with the race and walk, the event highlighted fire safety and community wellness. Fire safety demonstrations by the Albemarle Fire Department were planned after the run, giving participants and families another reason to stay and learn.
Events like this bring neighbors, local organizations, businesses, and families together around shared goals. Supporting health and wellness while raising awareness about fire prevention made the day meaningful beyond the finish line.
Teamwork from Start to Finish
For Seven Oaks, taking part was a chance to enjoy time together outside the workday and be part of a local gathering. Finishing the course in under an hour was a team accomplishment, and we are proud of everyone who walked, ran, encouraged a teammate, or helped make the event a success.
We appreciate the Uwharrie Brewing Running Club, the Albemarle Fire Department, and the community organizations and volunteers who helped bring the Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Walk to life. Thank you to everyone who participated and supported the event.
